The Berkshire Hathaway Company is a company that deals with financial investments, banking and lending, and the shares are sold by way of an annual shareholders meeting called the Shareholders Meeting. The shareholders’ meetings usually take place in January or April each year, depending on whether it is a bi-monthly or bimonthly meeting. However, the company does have three different shareholders meetings taking place each year. The shareholders meetings take place in the following order:
April Business Meeting – This is the general meeting where all shareholders are present and participate in the running of the business. The first item on the agenda is to report on the last year’s activities and progress. This meeting can also be used as a chance for the CEO and officers to send out any new memos, reports, or news releases. The second item on the agenda is the shareholders meeting report, which details all the significant happenings of the year. It includes the top five achievements of the company for the past year. The third item on the agenda is a report on strategic developments for the upcoming year.
August Business Meeting – This is the standard shareholders meeting. This is one that is used to update the shareholders on important happenings within the company and to provide any information regarding future events.
One of the items on the agenda will be the company awards and projects. The last item on the agenda is a report on business results for the previous month. If there are other events that have to be mentioned or listed off, they are presented in the last few minutes before the meeting is started.
